Gilles Welinski
Inconsistance
World Premiere
Dance is a purposeless technique. There is no obvious reason to do one thing and not another. There are as many languages of movement as there are choreographers.
That is precisely what poses a challenge to Gilles Welinski: To have a purpose emerge for his solo from the contradictory relationship between technique and ritual, mechanics and symbolism, from this Inconsistance. And thus to define the undefinable. To want the involuntary. And to repeat what cannot be repeated.
The French dancer Gilles Welinski worked with Compagnie Fattoumi-Lamoureux and with Pina Bausch in Wuppertal. In 1994 Susanne Linke and Urs Dietrich brought him to the Bremer Tanztheater. He is now choreographing his own pieces.

CV…Show?
Sporadic noises interrupt the silence, enveloping the bodies in an industrial atmosphere. In his solo piece, CV…Show?, Robert Przybyl sets out on a projection-laden search for a ‘curriculum vitae’. Wherever he crosses his own vertically climbing schemes, transient evidence emerges. Figures, marks, symbols accelerate. The real person watches until his alter ego breaks loose. ‘Sabotage’ is what the Beastie Boys demand from the off.
The Polish computer scientist Robert Przybyl decided to study dance in Linz in 2002. In 2005 Martin Stiefermann brought him to the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater. He has worked with artists such as Urs Dietrich, Rami Be’er and Rose Breuss, and meanwhile created a number of idiosyncratic solos, duets and trios.
