Here we see a new language: emotionally charged minimalism.
Magazin TheaterMaker

Six men set foot on the glistening stage as if it were the first step on the moon. Seemingly remote controlled, they execute their minimalistic movements, and beneath their efforts lies something fragile.

We-Solo-Men

We Solo Men hovers between rhythmic masterpiece, persiflage and fragile poetry. They are all soloists. They all want to entertain. But they are unable to communicate. Ann van den Broek has created a pulsating composition comprised of sounds, words, movement, and body language. With her live composition, Arne van Dongen responds musically to the sounds of the dancers.

Ann van den Broek worked for Elisa Monte, Krisztina de Châtel and Charleroi/Danses for ten years before she began using research inspired by filmic means for her own choreographies in 2000. Her pieces have repeatedly been nominated by Dutch theatre directors (VSCD) as the most impressive dance production of the season.

Concept/choreography: Ann van den Broek
Dance: Jan Martens, Andreas Kuck, Cecilia Moisio, Judit Ruiz Onandi, Dario Tortorelli, Jan Deboom
