A struggle, a feast, but above all deep despair.

They appear in a black attire and high heels: Two sensual women dedicated to decline. The female singer rants among the musicians in the park of drums, she jumps up in the air from a squat like a crown cork, straddles, and in the last second makes a safe landing again. Safe? In Protect me from myself, female body metaphors encounter the vocabulary of war. From the poetic requiem of a female suicide bomber, the text ‘Woman-Bomb’ by award-winning Croatian author Ivana Sajko, Sanja Ristic created an explosive mixture of concert, dance and theatre.
Sanja Ristic, born in Basle and of Serbo-Croatian descent, is a traveller between the worlds of theatre, dance, song, film, and television. In 2008 she founded her own company, Salon Sauvage.
Direction: Sanja Ristic
