Saarinen has the rare talent of being able to catapult his audience into another world.
Ballet Magazine

The works of Finnish choreographer Tero Saarinen are sensuous, concentrated and yet wide open, like a spacious landscape. In Double Lives, he explores the phenomenon of the doppelganger with twenty dancers of nordwest/Tanzcompagnie Oldenburg & Tanztheater Bremen.

Double Lives

In the high-contrast image worlds of his light designer Ville Konttinen, he seeks out the contradiction between our imaginations and alleged reality – and raises the question as to the complexity of our existence.
Tero Saarinen gave up his career as a solo dancer with the Finnish National Ballet in 1992 and travelled to Japan, where he met Kazuo Ohno and studied Butoh and traditional dance. He has created more than 30 works until today.
