A dance theater for children aged 8+ years

The theme to which Wilfried van Poppel’s current production De Wadloopers is dedicated is mutual trust. Three persons underway in the mudflat of the Wadden Sea. They meet and are gradually surrounded by rising water. They find refuge on a small sandbank. This is where they have to save themselves and build upon each other – although they are strangers.

The company De LooPERS presents inspiring dance theatre for children. The scenes stimulate one’s fantasy and call for interpreting the images on one’s own. In this manner, children learn to read, interpret and discover body language for themselves. After his studies in Chicago, Wilfried van Poppel first worked as a dancer, pantomime and choreographer before specialising in productions for a young audience in 1999. He has been the artistic director of the theatre project ‘act’ in Bremen since 2002.
