A lettering on the floor demands: “Wipe out!” Small groups dressed in gala costumes dart forward like balls in a pinball machine: Six drummers of the group Slagwerk Den Haag vary a common pulse. Eight dancers perform virtuoso movement sequences across the dance floor. Stop, go. The speedy contemporaries accelerate their wild play from nought to sixty. They thrash through the scenery in a virtuoso way, whirl through the setting in acrobatic acts and pull out all the stops, smiling. The human desire to influence unforeseeable situations is what drives them unrelentingly forward.
